Excellent service is about using your skills, passion, education and personality to make each guest feel comfortable, special and valued
As the training manager at YES AYS, Suzanne brings over 10 years of work experience in serving customers to the training program. At age 16, she took her first job in her hometown of Chillicothe, Illinois (USA) as a Barista at a café. Throughout her last years in secondary school, she worked there building a solid foundation of good customer service.
In 2001, she enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at Loyola University Chicago to focus on war, peace and genocide studies. In her final year at Loyola, she took a work-study position as an Assistant for the fundraising branch of the University Annual Fund, which solicited donations for scholarships and programs from alumni. While working with the Annual Fund, she solicited donations from local companies for products and gift certificates that would be used to reward student callers for their efforts.
After graduation, Suzanne accepted her first professional job with a Personal Membership Group of the American Hospital Association in Chicago. She spent 2.5 years with the association, providing membership support, planning meetings and completing special projects.
After leaving the organization, she decided to begin work in hotels, as a lifelong lover of travel and good memories from working with hotel staff to plan meetings. She landed her first position as a Guest Services Agent at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel, a member of Millennium & Copt Horne Hotels. During a little over four years at this 306-room historic hotel in downtown Chicago, she spent time learning about various hotel departments including the concierge, bell & door staff, revenue management, banquets, accounting, sales and revenue management. She also began working as a temporary reservations agent, night auditor, and served as the Front Office departmental liaison to the hotel’s safety committee.
In 2012, Suzanne moved to Georgia to help open Hotel Kabadoni, a boutique, 21-room hotel in Sighnaghi that is a member of Preferred Hotel Group. She served as Hotel Kabadoni’s Reception Manager for two years before moving to Istanbul, Turkey to join the reception team at Martı Istanbul Hotel. After a brief, 10 month stay in Istanbul, she returned to Georgia and is now working with YES AYS Lifestyle Hospitality.
